Someone who visited my website for the first time pointed out a "missing piece" of information. Specifically, this blog. I announced my breast cancer diagnosis last December and then...*poof*, no more posts here. Great news, I am alive and well.

Yes, I survived breast cancer and am now learning how to thrive after treatment. I have another surgery, hopefully my last, for reconstruction, this December.

As some of you have heard, I recently was diagnosed with breast cancer. Your support in the form of purchases here means so much right now. As I am going in for my second surgery next week, Monday, December 17 is the last day before Christmas I can be certain to get orders shipped out. Well, I took the plunge in January and launched a blog outside of this web shop and it's going well. I'm posting at least four days a week, with photos and writing. It's turning out to be a interesting experience, making a visual record of my creative processing. The big news is that the belts are now in stock and all belt buckles will now come with a beautiful benchmade chocolate brown leather belt. The prices have only gone up a wee amount to cover the my cost on the belts, so they are still affordable wearable art! I searched all over to find these and they are made by a small artisan leather company in the midwest. Very good quality and super sharp with the copper buckles! I just got a few to start, until I see what the trend in sizes will be...so if you want one, get it now!

I'm certain some of you have been checking the site lately, hoping for new things, as you start to plan for holiday gifts. Never fear, there will be new pieces to choose from soon! I'm working as fast as I can (with 2 jobs as well) and will be posting new work by December 1st at the latest.

Also, I am open to special orders, just get your requests in now, as I need considerable lead time to make a Christmas deadline.

As I scratch my bug bites and unpack my campfire-smoke-soaked clothes, I am reflecting on my recent trip to the Great Lakes. I just returned home from a wonderful week in the woods, as a vendor at the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival. It's a great event and always an affirming opportunity to connect with women who love my jewelry in person! After months working away in my solo studio, I loved it. There was such an outpouring of support and love from customers - thanks so much, all of you! This festival is the only retail event that I do, so it's extra special.
