| | | PIGEON POINT LIGHTHOUSE MAY 14 2010 | | | | Since 1872, not too far from here, between San Francisco and Santa Cruz stands this beautiful one of a kind landmark.
A spectacular sentinel perched on the rugged California coast. One of the tallest lighthouses in America, The Pigeon Point Lighthouse rises 115 feet and houses a 16 foot tall, 6 foot diameter, 8,000 pound Fresnel lens made up of over a thousand hand cut prisms and when lit, was visible for miles.
After 138 years of protecting the coast and making lasting memories for travelers, it's getting pretty crumbly and in need of serious repair.
This 5 x 7 inch painting is acrylic on canvas stretched over wood stretcher bars. Painted on all visible sides so it doesn't need a frame. Coated with several coats of acrylic varnish, so it should last at least another 138 years.
So here's your chance own a world-famous landmark. | | Be the first to post a comment.
