I have been a conceptual painter for the last five years or so, but lately have started to go back to image based compositions through the use of collage. I have always been the most intrigued by texture and touch in my art, as well as in everything else. It's been a longstanding joke that I am a blind person, who just happens to be able to see, since I base everything on my sense of touch.

Other aspects which affect my art and my life greatly are mythology, philosophy and psychology writings.  I use these as tools to understand the world around me just as much as color or texture.

I have also been immensely influenced by the artists Lee Bontecou, Joan Mitchell, Betye Saar, Joseph Cornell, Anslem Kiefer and Robert Raushenburg.

I attended a handful of colleges, but my BFA is from Columbus College of Art and Design, which I graduated from in 2007. I also attended Herron School of Art in Indianapolis and Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy.
