I have spent the first 3 decades of my life pursuing a path in the software industry. I hold a B.A. from the University of Tel-Aviv in computer sciences and economics. My career choice has led me to move to California in 1997 where I have resided for most of my adult life.
They say that life can be explained through science, religion or art. As a software engineer I have been a man of science but nevertheless have always had an inclination towards art that for most parts was left dormant and unexplored. What started with pencil drawing way back in elementary school has now transformed into the art of photography. I guess this is no coincidence: after all, art comes from within and of all the arts, photography is perhaps the most scientific.

I have studied photography with Jaacob Burnstein once in 1997 and again in 2004. Jaacob is a well-known Israeli photographer and can be seen posing in some of my photos (Gangster, Photographer, Sadness). I came to Jaacob knowing very little about photography and I left with the tools that enabled me to develop my talent on my own.

In 2005 I spent 5 weeks studying with Leonardo Maniscalchi in Florence. Leonardo is a true pioneer of fashion photography in Italy and I feel very privileged to have been his pupil. I have learned much from Leonardo in the ways of studio photography but perhaps the most important lesson was that photography is not about recording photons but about the connection between the photographer and his subject.

2007 is a pivotal year for me. It takes me out of California and brings me back to Florence - the birthplace of modern art. This time around I'll be attending the Florence Design Academy and studying graphic design for 2 years. Assuming of course I find time between sipping the best coffee in the world, eating the best gelato in the world and shopping for the best clothes in the world. Man ,life can be difficult sometimes...

This site showcases some of my best work to date and I hope you enjoy it. If even one piece makes you pause and think for a minute, then I believe I did my job well.
