Landscape and abstract art from Devon, England
In my work I endeavour to show the intense beauty of our world, through landscapes as well as abstracts. Dutch by birth, but resident in Devon, England since 1990, my figurative work is influenced by the post-impressionists, the Scottish colourists and the "railway poster" artists of the 1920s and 30s. My abstracts tend to be serial, geometric pattern work and are inspired by artists such as Vasarely, Riley and Escher.

I contemplated going to art college in my teens but followed other interests instead, I studied politics and economics.  However I never stopped sketching and painting and I have built a practice of painting and drawing whenever possible with frequent exhibitions.  My work can be seen at the Square Studio in Northam, North Devon, and is also for sale via online gallery Artfinder.com.

During summer 2018 and 2019 I was exhibition organiser of the prestigious Westward Ho! and Bideford Art Society's exhibition at the Burton Art Gallery, the largest open art exhibition in the South West of England.
