Born and raised in Torbay, Newfoundland, Connie moved to Alberta after university in 1996. From an early age, she was encouraged to create. There has been little time in her life where she has not been creating in some way, be it painting, silversmithing, sewing, cross stitching or photography. In 2009, she tried painting again. After attending various art workshops and classes, she found a passion in abstract painting. A bit of a control freak in real life, abstract painting forces her to give up control and let the process take over. Painting has become her creative voice. Her passion for painting and creating is motivated by classroom setting, working with other artists – the conversation, the encouragement, the critiques. She enjoys working in acrylics and mixed media..
