These arrangements were made by our students under the instruction of our flower arrangement teacher during a lesson at the classroom of
California Flower Art Academy. As far as you enjoy making flower arrangements on your own pace strictly as a hobby, you don't have to be so serious about doing practice. However if you would like to be an active professional designer and want to win the severe competition, not only taking lessons but also reviewing and practicing what you learned during lessons are quite important. Since the floral design market is huge, we can find uncountable number of floral shops, florists and floral designers. This means you WILL be definitely involved in severe competition once you start your own business. Unless you have a very influential and strong connections with lots of customers PLUS very good business sense, it is quite difficult to be outstanding in the market. As far as you just sell fresh cut flowers at your shop, sophisticated flower arranging skill is not always required. However once you would like to penetrate a big market such as wedding flower decoration, corporate and event arrangements, earning a high level of skill and knowledge is a key to success.
We always recommend our students to bring digital camera to the classroom so that they will take photos of floral arrangements they make during a lesson. Pictures of arrangements they actually make at the classroom greatly help them review and practice after getting back home. Like lectures at a college, if students want to get an excellent result in an exam, they need to review what they learned during a lecture and learn at home. The same story about earning a good floral design skill. Suppose they take floral design lessons twice a week, they had better practice at home spending about the same time as a lesson.
This suggestion MAY sound a little bit difficult to students who have a full time job or family to support. However we recommend them to practice to the extent the situation and time allow.
