2 in 1 Ikebana arrangement: two designs in one Suiban
This is Ikebana arrangement made at the classroom of California Flower Art Academy. The arrangement was made by our student under the direction of our Ikebana instructor. It was made during a real Ikebana lesson. As seen from the photo, this arrangement uses a white color Suiban in which we placed two pieces of Kenzan (left and right). On each of two pieces of Kenzan, different Ikebana arrangements were made.
Since we take pictures during a very busy lesson PLUS we do not set up any special photo taking environment, the table and the background are pretty messy. But this offers the atmosphere of actual classroom lesson.
Ikebana is different from Western Style Flower Arrangement (European or American floral design) in its history, design concept, the way of arranging, type of flowers and plant used for designs and also the tools. Ikebana is a very profound floral art which offers a different nature of atmosphere. Although Ikebana arrangement requires delicate and detail oriented skill and manipulation, the way and concept of Ikebana arranging changes your conventional style of floral arrangement.
