For those who have never experienced Ikebana lessons or who have keen interest in Japanese traditional floral art called Ikebana,
California Flower Art Academy is pleased to announce a very affordable YET quite instructive class called
Ikebana Short Seminar Program.
This is a short seminar that costs only $98 (effective as of January 2015 and subject to change in the future) covering not only tuition but also flower materials and
Kenzan (frog pin: needlepoint holder to hold flowers) and also
Suiban (shallow type container specifically designed for Ikebana arrangement).
If you join this short seminar, you can learn two types of Japanese typical traditional flower arrangement (basic designs) spending about 2.5 hours. Many people join this seminar just for having a nice time of good experience of making Ikebana arrangement and also some want to evaluate the way we teach Ikebana before signing up for official Ikebana Course (such as
Ikebana Arrangement Elementary Course etc.).
Ikebana has a very long history and this floral art used to be considered to be one of mandatory skills that should be earned by young ladies before getting married. Many of Japanese women who belonged to a high society or decent society learned Ikebana. By learning Ikebana, they got a manner and etiquette as well as spirit of Japanese floral art.
California Flower Art Academy has been operating since 1990 in the San Francisco Bay Area and also Silicon Valley (San Jose) as a floral school certified by Flower Decorators Association (Tokyo Japan).
