The photo shows floral arrangements designed and made by our students under the direction of our instructor during a real lesson in the classroom of California Flower Art Academy. These are Ikebana arrangements or European arrangements ? These arrangements are shaped in crescent. Crescent arrangement is quite popular in Ikebana world. Making the best use of curved line element is typical arranging method adopted for Ikebana arts. However unlike typical Ikebana arrangement, these arrangements do not use Kenzan. On top of that containers used for these arrangements are neither Suiban nor tall Ikebana container. Therefore strictly speaking these are not Ikebana arrangements. They COULD be said to be the mixture of Ikebana and European arrangements. We COULD call them Contemporary Arrangement.
California Flower Art Academy teaches a variety of floral designs from conventional one to contemporary one, easy one to complicated one. Since our instructors are familiar with both Japanese Ikebana floral art and European arrangement, we can teach very creative designs by way of blending both floral arts. No matter which floral art you want to learn, Japanese Ikebana or European arrangement, we can help. In order to comply with various requests and demands from our students, we offer a Wide Range of Programs from short seminar to advanced course on both Japanese and European designs.
If you have no experience in floral arrangements, we recommend under mentioned programs:
