Both photos in this page show flower arrangements actually designed and made during a lesson at the classroom of
California Flower Art Academy. They were made by our head instructor. Although both are table arrangements, the left design is one of typical common and conventional ones and the right one CAN be said to be a contemporary design. Among so many floral designs we teach, we find traditional, classic and conventional one to modern and contemporary designs.
The more design students learn and the more deeply they study, the more contemporary one they feel like challenging. From student to student, the taste of design is different. However this is typical situation. Namely if a student is very diligent and enthusiastic to master flower arrangements, they usually want to learn as many styles as possible because they can expand and enhance the portfolio of their designs by way of mastering as many designs as possible. If they have a much wider range of portfolio compared with other floral designers, they have a great advantage and easy to win a hard competition when doing floral business.

Among various types of students, we can find the similar trend that is they feel a little bit bored with ordinary type of flower arrangements if they have been learning for a long period of time and would like to challenge something new. In this kind of case, some students request for a special lesson focusing on a certain type of decoration which they found on the internet.
In many cases such arrangements are quite creative and unique that are not covered by our standard curriculum.
