For those who have been learning floral arrangement for a long period of time or people who have lots of experience in flower designs, there are so many common senses that can be easily understood by everybody. However when it comes to beginners or people who are quite new to floral design world, even information falling in the common sense to experienced floral designers cannot be understood.
Therefore not only regarding words and terminologies but also skills and techniques, beginner students must start from scratch. Instruction by teachers of California Flower Art Academy always do their best for teaching beginners based on step by step instructions.
Sometimes we find beginner students who want to jump to a high level of designs from the first beginning stage. However if they have not yet earned a basic floral arranging skill, it is next to impossible for them to earn a higher level of skills. We usually recommend beginner students to start from
Introductory Trial Budget Program (for European arrangement) or
Ikebana Short Seminar Program (for Japanese traditional floral art).
After completing above short program, they usually proceed to the next level of course that is called Elementary Course (
Fresh Flower Arrangement Elementary Course OR
Ikebana Arrangement Elementary Course). Even if the program setting is done in accordance with step by step process, beginner students still have difficulties for clearly understanding what instructors explain if their instructor does not explain using easy words so beginner students can well digest the information from the instructor.
