Good to challenge new designs. But earn basic skill first.
These photos show flower arrangements made by our students under the directions of our instructors during real lessons at California Flower Art Academy.
Some limited number of students want to make floral designs their way and their style from the first beginning stage. It is good to have a spirit of challenging something new and always have positive mind. However before challenging something new, it is mandatory and quite important to earn basic skills first. This is a common sense that is shared with most of reasonable people. However some people are different.
In order to earn basic skills, students should be patient for a while until they have reached a certain level in their designing skills. The secret to earn a good skill is quite easy. Just follow teacher's instructions and directions and try to duplicate what instructors are doing during lessons.
Initial step in learning something new is try to imitate your instructor's design. Dead copy of instructor's arrangement is OK until you have completely earned basic skills. The way to learn floral design is similar to the way to learn foreign language.
Just imitate what your teacher does. It is simple and "easy" in a sense. In order to learn basic skills, we recommend you to join Fresh Flower Arrangement Elementary Course (for European style arrangement) or Ikebana Arrangement Elementary Course (Japanese traditional floral art). Once you have earned a basic skill by joining these elementary courses, you will have more opportunities of doing floral arrangements you like. And eventually you can earn a decent skill with which you can make designs in your own way and style reflecting your own idea and concept. If you love flowers and have passion/enthusiastic attitude, we can help by way of semi private lesson. For more information, please feel free to contact email@example.com
