Since our school is very small, everything works flexibly. Lesson schedule is not exceptional. Some people are at a loss about how many times they should (can) take lessons a week or a month. Our school can work flexibly so that we can satisfy any kind of lesson schedule requested by our students. Lesson schedule can be established according to each student's convenience. Basically each student can make a decision about how the lesson schedule should be arranged.
Actually we have a student who takes lessons once a week. Some students twice a week. And some three times a week. Another student takes a lesson only once a week. it is up to each student. It is a student's decision. Then why can we satisfy each student's request which is different from student to student ? Only because we limit number of students to no more than 4 per class (typically 2 to 3 students per class). This kind of small class system makes it possible for us to implement semi private lesson.
Suppose there are three students in a classroom. One student is learning basic European floral designs. Another student is learning wedding floral arrangement. And we can find one more student who is learning Ikebana arrangement. One instructor can take care of different type of instructions in the same classroom. This can be done only because it is a semi private lesson.
Due to above lesson system, we do not need semester system. It does not make sense to adopt a semester system in our case. People who know only American way of college system or semester system MAY not be able to understand our system. However this kind of flexible lesson system is not a rare case at a small class in Japan. This kind of class system has been working for a long period of time for teaching Ikebana arrangement in Japan Namely from student to student, the progress is different. Nevertheless one instructor can take care of each student who is learning a different level of Ikebana arrangement.
Because of above flexible system, you can start taking lessons at any time you like as far as we have space available and receive a lesson fee in advance so that we can procure fresh flowers for your lesson.
If you are interested in learning floral art, Japanese traditional Ikebana or European floral arrangement, we can help. For those who have no experience in floral art, we recommend following programs;
