The photos in this page show some of floral arrangements made by our students during real lessons under the direction of instructors who teach at California Flower Art Academy.
Majority of people learning flower arrangements may want to earn a common and and popular style of designs by taking lessons at a flower design school or taking private lessons from a well experienced floral design instructor. By learning this way, they will be able to make floral designs in the orthodox and ordinary ways. However among many of floral artists, some of them are looking for a very unique arrangement. This kind of people already earned regular floral design skills and feel a little bit bored with a conventional type of designs. If you want to be a floral designer who can design really creative and unique arrangements like no others, here is a very practical way.
Regardless of type of floral arrangements, European or Japanese style, it is mandatory to master a basic skill of fresh flower arrangements. The initial step is to learn and master European floral arrangements. After they have reached a high level of curriculum such as Fresh Flower Arrangement Advanced Course
or Instructor Course
, they practice repeatedly in order to completely earn the profound level of skill. Once they have earned the highest level of arrangement, they can start to learn Japanese style of arrangement (called Ikebana) while keeping the skill of European designs as an important tool.
If you are familiar with Western style floral art and have already learned Japanese Ikebana arrangement to some extent, you must recognize the difference between these two arts in terms of not only the way of arranging flowers and the kind of vase and container but also the type of plant materials used for designing as well as the atmosphere created by both types of floral designs. By knowing and recognizing the difference between two styles, the important way is to blend and mix the style and skill of these two floral arts whereby you can create quite unique designs like no others.
As a matter of fact, some of floral artists adopt this way of arranging. By making the best use of their skill of blending European and Japanese styles, they can increase the visibility of their position, which remarkably help make a difference in floral art industry. California Flower Art Academy offers a Wide Range of Programs among which our students can make a choice of their most favorite program by well considering the purpose and goal for learning floral designs. Since the goal is different from student to student, our school is pleased to offer various opportunities in order for them to achieve their goal.
