Both photos show Ikebana arrangements made by our students under the instructions of our Ikebana teacher during lessons in the classroom of California Flower Art Academy
. These arrangements are called Moribana
. Namely both designs use Suiban
(shallow container) in which we place Kenzan
(needlepoint holder). You can find flower stems are mounted onto Kenzan to firmly hold flowers.
The difference between these two Ikebana arrangements is that the left one is typical traditional Ikebana arrangement and the right one is a kind of Contemporary or Modern Ikebana.
Once you have mastered Ikebana arrangements, you can enjoy variations by making modifications on the basic style of arrangement. Some people apply the Ikebana arranging method to western style arrangements (European or American arrangement) depending on the taste of each floral designer. If you like flower arrangements and have interest in learning Ikebana, California Flower Art Academy can help. The majority of students with no experience start from following programs:
REMARKS: We do not offer Ikebana Arrangement Instructor Course. None of our Ikebana courses is designed for training students to become Ikebana Instructor. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
