We often use greenery elements to make a kind of impact in flower arrangement. These photo show floral designs made by our students under the directions of our instructor during real lessons in the classroom of
California Flower Art Academy. The elements that look like geometric line are
horsetails. We call this arrangement geometric design. Some people call it architectural design.
While most arrangements feature beauties of natural lines (such as straight, curved or round lines) of flowers, this arrangement uses "artificial lines" made by bending elements as shown per the photos to create a little bit different atmosphere in the arrangement. If you are tired of making regular floral arrangements, why not try to make this kind of a little bit creative designs ? As a matter of fact, the technique of manipulating flower stems or plant leaves like this design is often used for Ikebana arrangements. However most of manipulation is done for making curved lines by using flexible leaves like bear grass and curly willow etc. In this sense Geometric Design is a quite unique arrangement that can be seldom found in our daily life.
California Flower Art Academy has been teaching a variety of floral arrangements from European design to Japanese Ikebana, beginner to professional levels, home decoration to event arrangements, wedding to funeral designs whatsoever. We offer classes every single week throughout the year in Silicon Valley (San Jose) and San Francisco Bay Area (Burlingame, San Mateo County) close to San Francisco Airport.
