ripple

6/30/10

Reach out your hand if your cup be empty,
If your cup is full may it be again,
Let it be known there is a fountain,
That was not made by the hands of men.

There is a road, no simple highway,

Between the dawn and the dark of night,
And if you go no one may follow,
That path is for your steps alone.

Ripple in still water,

When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.

You who choose to lead must follow

But if you fall you fall alone,
If you should stand then who's to guide you?
If I knew the way I would take you home.

~G.  Dead

union

"I caught sight of my reflection

I caught it in the window
I saw the darkness in my heart
I saw the signs of my undoing
They had been there from the start
And the darkness still has work to do
The knotted chord's untying
They're heated and they're holy
Oh they're sitting there on high
So secure with everything they're buying

I
n the blood of Eden
Lie the woman and the man
With the man in the woman
And the woman in the man
In the blood of Eden
Lie the woman and the man
We wanted the union
Oh the union of the woman
The woman and the man."

step

If you look for the truth outside yourself,
It gets farther and farther away.
Today walking alone, I meet it everywhere I step.
It is the same as me, yet I am not it.
Only if you understand it in this way
Will you merge with the way things are.

Oh very young
What will you leave us this time
There'll never be a better chance to change your mind
And if you want this world to see a better day
Will you carry the words of love with you
Will you ride the great white bird into heaven
And though you want to last forever
You know you never will
You know you never will
And the goodbye makes the journey harder still

Oh very young

What will you leave us this time
You're only dancing on this earth for a short while
Oh very young
What will you leave us this time

coincidences

6/16/10

David Lee Black A few weeks ago, my daughter and I were hiking in the middle of seemingly nowhere, somewhere in the Ohio River Valley and came across this couple embracing under a waterfall. I took their photograph and later discovered that he was proposing to her.

She said yes.

There are no coincidences~

"Night, the beloved. Night, when words fade and
things come alive. When the destructive analysis of day is done, and all
that is truly important becomes whole and sound again.

When man
reassembles his fragmentary self and grows with the calm of a tree."

When they stole from their retreats, in the likenesses of forms and faces from the past, from the grave, from the deep, deep gulf, where the things that might have been, and never were, are always wandering."
