"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of fuel.
Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is
fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights
I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about
fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."
Water is fluid, soft, and yielding. But water will wear away rock, which is rigid and cannot yield. As a rule, whatever is fluid, soft, and yielding will overcome whatever is rigid and hard. This is another paradox: what is soft is strong.
“Confront the dark parts of
yourself, and work to banish them with illumination and forgiveness.
Your willingness to wrestle with your demons will cause your angels to
sing. Use the pain as fuel, as a reminder of your strength.”
you see has its roots in the unseen world. The forms may change, yet
the essence remains the same. Every wonderful sight will vanish; every
sweet word will fade, But do not be disheartened, The source they come
from is eternal, growing, Branching out, giving new life and new joy.
Why do you weep? The source is within you And this whole world is
springing up from it.
“We are the music makers, and
we are the dreamers of the dream. Wandering by lone sea breakers, and
sitting by desolate streams. World losers and world forsakers, for whom
the pale moon gleams. Yet we are movers and the shakers of the world
forever it seems.” ~A. O'Shaughnessy
