"A man's life is nothing but an extended trek through the detours of art to recapture those one or two moments when his heart first opened"

Show me a man with a tattoo and I'll show you a man with an interesting past.
~Jack London

So today I got a tattoo.
I designed it with my daughter's initials and brought it to Jen, a wonderful artist in Newport, Rhode Island who brought it to life.

Now the healing begins (which is also metaphorically...perfect).

"Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies
Don't fence me in
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love
Don't fence me in
Let me be by myself in the evenin' breeze
And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees
Send me off forever but I ask you please
Don't fence me in..."

"Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing."

One of my anxieties, wondering whether the danger is worth the ride, or simply a reckless decision. Thank you for the wisdom from Ms. Keller.

It is a grand house. Love the craftsmanship of that era. There are many old homes from the "jewelry baron" days in that area.

"We're all a little weird.  And life is a little weird.  And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness - and call it love - true love."

The most perfect opening night at The Preservation Art Gallery.
A cast of characters in attendance straight out of Central Casting,
loads of laughter, good music, wine, food and a spirit of love.
Thank you to my wonderful friends as you truly are my force field of benevolence and I remain forever grateful that you are a part of my life.

and.... two pieces SOLD that opening night...

“Love can sweep you off your feet and carry you along in a way you've never known before. But the ride always ends, and you end up feeling lonely and bitter.

Wait. . .

It's not love I'm describing. I'm thinking of a monorail.”

“Faith is the centerpiece of a connected life. It allows us to live by the grace of invisible strands. It is a belief in a wisdom superior to our own. Faith becomes a teacher in the absence of fact.”

"Dusk, I realized then, is just an illusion, because the sun is either above the horizon or below it. And that means that day and night are linked in a way that few things are; there cannot be one without the other, yet they cannot exist at the same time. How would it feel, I remember wondering, to be always together, yet forever apart?"

A photo shoot in Harvard Square this morning followed by another in beautiful Sherborn, Massachusetts and then to the countryside of Oxford for a family portrait.

Tonight, music in Providence...

An artful day that I am already grateful for!  But first,

Now, dangit! ;)

“For example, the wind has its reasons. We just don't notice as we go about our lives. But then, at some point, we are made to notice. The wind envelops you with a certain purpose in mind, and it rocks you. The wind knows everything that's inside you. And not just the wind. Everything, including a stone. They all know us very well. From top to bottom. It only occurs to us at certain times. And all we can do is go with those things. As we take them in, we survive, and deepen.”

“Rabbit's clever," said Pooh thoughtfully.
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit's clever."
"And he has Brain."
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit has Brain."
There was a long silence.
"I suppose," said Pooh, "that that's why he never understands anything.”

I couldn't agree with that more. It is the feeling that gets remembered along with the memories, and those will remain priceless. Solar Energy
