ephemeral

“There's little to see, but things leave an impression. It's a matter of time and repetition. As something old wears thin or out, something new wears in. The handle on the pump, the crank on the churn, the dipper floating in the bucket, the latch on the screen, the door on the privy, the fender on the stove, the knees of the pants and the seat of the chair, the handle of the brush and the lid to the pot exist in time but outside taste; they wear in more than they wear out. It can't be helped. It's neither good nor bad. It's the nature of life.”

Live it, feel it, cling to it.
I want to become acutely aware of all I’ve taken for granted.”

allein

9/22/17

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, and—in spite of True Romance magazines—we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely—at least, not all the time—but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”

~Hunter S. Thompson

“Invisible things are the only realities.” ?~Poe? It was a cold sunny day at Colt State Park in Bristol, RI when I photographed the talented cellist Morgan Santos. There was something magical about the surrounding light and the air which we all breathe, interacting smoothly together with the beauty of music that appeared to be playing in the legato style. Perhaps the veil is a metaphor for the illusion of barriers  of adversity in our lives. Adversity only makes us stronger. Every adversity we overcome makes our spirit and soul grow stronger.  Physical, spiritual and mental barriers are all part of the human condition but often there are times when the essence of what it means to be truly human shines through . . .
