Hi David, love the trees and all they represent standing alone, maybe two or a whole forest. I am in love with your Celtic window and I see you will be in Cambridge, I so hope to make one of your showings and I'm wondering if "Celtic Window"will be at either on of the exhibits??
-- Maryedna, 8/1/18

You look like a happy guy, like it might be contageous!

David, thank you for making our maternity shoot a wonderful experience. The pictures are truly beautiful and capture the love we have for each other as well as the love we have for our little bundle that will be arriving soon. You are incredibly talented and fun to work with. Thank you again for capturing this special time in our lives!

David, Asylum, Reflections and Whimsy series are those very rare kind of art works which everytime we look at, make our mind rewrite a new story...it is, at the same time, realism and surrealism both working the deep of our souls. Congratulations David!
-- Fernando Rôlla, 8/26/11

You're work is absolutely amazing David! It caught my eye 6 years ago & is an inspiration to me even now. You successfully capture the soul/spirit of every subject that you interact with perfectly. You convey to the viewer the depth of your passion and make them stop and think. I look forward to seeing more!
-- Corinna M. Hypes, 6/17/11

-- Cybil, 6/13/11

Paddle boarding at Claflin Landing in Chatham is such a serene experience and I'm so glad you were able to capture it. I don't mind sharing the water with hungry seals but I hope a shark never mistakes me for food. Amazing photos, can't wait to see more. See ya out on the water!
-- Molly, 6/10/11

Your work taps into a certain part of my mind. It makes me think. There are so many stories that I create looking at just one photo. Thank you!

-- Teiyla Shaw, 12/22/10

I just linked you to my FB page... Sweet mother... I am in awe!!! I grew up with a step-father who was a photographer - his haunting chant "fill the negative" still echoes everytime I shoot! I was looking at the Asylum and all I do is stare with my mouth wide open... Haunting, Captivating, Just Speechless.... Truly Impressed and Deeply Moved!!! Simply Stunning!!!
-- Roberto Villanueva, 11/9/10

BEAU-TI-FUL! I love your photographies!
-- Mickaëla, 9/5/10

DLB, I saw your creative side as we were growing up, but never imagined the real gift you have and am pleased to see you have experienced so much success with your talent. Your combination of words and photos inspires and challenges our minds. Thanks for sharing your visions with all of us…
-- Jill Curry Schmidt, 6/10/10

David, I am a seasoned visual person, and I think your work is outstanding. You work with words as well, which I love. I am a word person, who loves not just reading, but the actual writing of the words, fonts, typefaces, paper(critical)color and finish. It's rainy, and I feel like a kid coloring while I go through your site. It's been a real privilege!
-- Gayle Dallas Blackston, 5/19/10

As a serious ols school Leica-M photographer, Mine are now mere snapshots-yet, good ones, but....Yours' David-oh my!! David- the melding of your beautiful artful soulful eye with the powerful haunting spoken word , the light and shadow of our humanity. I would carry your flashbulbs to see you in action, a 'roadie' as in the Jackson Brown song Stay. Dr. Bartro
-- Bob Bartro, 4/12/10

Amazing, soulful, breath-taking, awe inspiring, beautiful, heartbreaking....love your work and the words you choose to use with them.
-- Toni (Botkins) Monsen, 4/9/10

David, your photos are simple, yet very complex. A pleasure to view over and over agian. Thanks for taking the time, you really captured our "walk with the dogs" I do love the contrast.
-- Jeanne Bernard, 4/1/10

Great site David, the asylum photos are fantastic. Can't help but think that place would have been a great place for a music video, for some metal band. A very haunting and eerie set of photos.
-- Steve P, 3/29/10

Dear Mr. Black, On behalf of the Board of Library Trustees I wish to thank you for sharing your photographs with our library patrons. Your work is striking and so many people commented on how much they enjoyed the exhibit. The multi-framed Father Daughter series aroused a great deal of interest and comment. I appreciate your work and wish you much success in the future. Sincerely Yours, Deborah Grimmett Director, Abington Public Library

Many of your compositions are transcendental in nature, clearly a passionate pilgrim when the camera is in your grasp.

This can't be... David Black from little old Mexico Mo??? A Musician, a writer... photography... biker... What a rich life... this is a person with an artists soul. Those people don't come from where I come from... do they? If it wasn't for your picture (i'd recognize you anywhere) I would have been convinced that I had the wrong David Black. Each time I see one of your thought provoking images, or read a FB post, I think, how did I not see this side of David when we were at MHS? How could I not have known this person better? But of course, I wasn't then, the person I am now, so I supposed it is possible that you grew into this artist/musician/writer person in the past 30 or so years. Anyway... I just wanted you to know that I am so tickled to know that you not only survived your childhood in the midwest, but have gone on to flurish and build wonderful, full, rich life... Whether because of, or inspite of your many years in little old Mexico, MO.
