September 2021 - Ethan Le
Fremont CA, September 2021: Actor and Singer Ethan Le is attending Ohlone College and plans to be part of the theatre department. Summer 2021 also marks Ethan’s second summer at StarsStruck Theatre based out of Fremont, CA.
Ethan was raised in the SF East Bay community of Fremont California. At the young age of 14, Ethan was performing with his family and friends. But it wasn’t until he attended JFK High School did he perform on stage for the first time. When he was freshman he performed in his first musical at his theatre department . Ethan got his performance bug and learned that this was something he would like to pursue as a potential career.
Along with his interest in the arts, Le also has a great passion for progressive political activism. He keeps a busy teenage life juggling a schedule between his studies and rehearsals/ performances. He was also a member of the JFKHS Choir, impressing audiences with baritone voice.
While at JFK his first on stage performance was in Beauty and the Beast the musical, as a featured role. After this performance, he knew that the experience of creating a moving story for an audience is something that inspired him to continue to perform and audition. Ethan went on to perform in nearly a dozen JFK productions. The highlight of his performances on the JFK stage was as Caldwell B. Cladwell in Urinetown: The Musical.
One of the many reviews he received included, “Watching you, I forgot I was watching a high school production.”
Ethan was inspired to explore his directing abilities, and directed a production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. It was well received by the community. Le realized that art of directing is one to be appreciated, but knew that he was best suited to be on the other end performing. During the summers, Ethan would be working mainly with StarStruck Theatre. His first show with the company was in The Hunchback of Notre Dame as Dom Claude Frollo. The following summer, he was part of his first college level production in The Phantom of the Opera with Stage 1 Theatre.
Graduating his senior year, Le was honored with the Drama Department Medallion Award and the Music Department Vocal Certificate.
In the summer of 2021, as the Covid-19 pandemic was waning, Ethan performed live for the first time in over a year in StarStruck’s Legally Blonde: The Musical. He was casted as Professor Callahan, and performed to sold out audiences. Ethan says, “Being able to perform for an audience live again was exhilarating, and is not something we should ever take for granted.”
Ethan is currently attending Ohlone College in Fremont, CA, and is actively auditioning for fall and spring productions in 2021 and 2022.
