Debbie Krentz-Johnson and I demonstrated pastel painting at the San Diego County Fair Saturday. This offered us the opportunity to share our different techniques and introduce the public to soft pastels.
When I walked through the Art Gallery, I notice that "Which Came First?" received a People's Choice Award on June 21st. Every day, the public gets to vote on their favorite painting.
I missed the artists' reception for the San Diego County Fair. We were in Albuquerque for the IAPS convention. Blue Butterfly won a second place ribbon and "Which Came First?" won an Honorable Mention.
We flew to Albuquerque for the IAPS convention and juried exhibition. There were seven of us from San Diego, a small number compared to the over 600 attendees. There were great workshops, lectures and demos. I was most honored to have earned Master Circle status and was awarded the Master Circle medal at the Saturday evening banquet. "Yellow Daffodils and Lemons" was juried into the 2nd Master Circle Exhibition.
