Horizontal (12) is an abstract acrylic painting. 24" x 24" x .75". It's executed on stretched canvas with a gallery edge.
The serenity that a horizon can bring to an observer is what stimulated this painting. Then I've embroidered it with different textures washed over by color that takes on it's pattern from the depth of the texture. I've also set in a pattern of rivulates using gravity as my brush. For me, the work connects a natural flow to a geometric pretext. Opposites blend.
