ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Artist Statement: I have been drawing and painting most of my life, with a hiatus here and there. One thread of my work has been figurative, while another direction is abstract/nonobjective, both done in a variety of media (mixed, soft and oil pastel, oil stick, water media/watercolor, monotype, charcoal, ink, collage).

 

Education:  B.A., English (Writing, Art Minor), Pomona College; M.A., English Literature, University of Colorado; many art courses and study with local art teachers and workshop leaders

Your work is inspiring........ I'm always attracted to paintings outside of the box. Your figure work is especially interesting. Figures have endless possibilities and you have taken an unusual twist with yours. Through gallery ownership I found that the more abstracted the figure the more likely the clients were to buy the painting. I am an experimental watermedia painter from Michigan. I bookmarked your work several months ago and have returned to the site many times. Keep up the good work! Karen
