Frederick Haucke, born dec.7 .1908, German emigrated to the

United States as a child. Educated, New York University. B.S.

and M.S. in Abnormal Psychology decided to abandon his

psycology and become a full time painter,

Haucke had four solo exhibitions at Paris Galleries in New York,

very well received and reviewed in Art Digest. Art News Studio,

the World ~Telegram and the New York Times, in the October 1.

1945 issue of Art News, John Morse of the Magazine of Art

chose Haucke's 'Phernic Universe "as on of the ten paints in

his" Critics Choice list, which included a sculpture by Henry

Moore and a painting by Robert Motherwell.
