Olessia Tampei was born and raised in the former Soviet Union. Luckily, she managed to free herself from the grasp of communist regime and move to the big bad city of Toronto, Canada at the ripe age of 11. When she is not working or painting, she spends her time enjoying the outdoors and playing sports (specifically, destroying opponents at volleyball and making them cry), then going home to reward herself by making delicious baked goods (she makes a bad-ass biscotti).

Olessia’s undeniable artistic talent was evident from an early age when she made all the other kids jealous with her fingerpainting masterpieces.  Her artistic pursuits have matured to now include photography, painting portraits, landscapes and still life. She holds a Digital Media Arts diploma from Seneca College, and enjoys exploring both modern and classic artistic mediums and whatever else strikes her fancy.

She is a passionate artist inspired by Monet, Degas and Mucha. She has completed a number of portraits in acrylic on canvas, and her illustrations were recently published in a children’s novel, which you should go purchase! (Sherlock& Elf: The Hampton Witch, by Ro Brisebois )
