T here is magic in the transparency of watercolor and as I begin painting on a saturated surface, color flows into pools meeting the texture of paper. The touch of a brush transforms color into landscape.
Often I work on small paintings since these are portable, either outside or in my studio where I can experiment with mineral pigments and the vibrant color or watercolor sticks, pencils and markers.
Not every painting I begin has a completion, a finish, an end. I either cannot go further in the process of working; although, often I find that some part of this work becomes in part something I have learned and that eventually finds its way into an entirely new work or direction in work.
