I am currently working on The Goddesses of Florida series which is my hip version of Roman Goddesses like Venus, Ceres and Diana. I wonder how these colorful goddesses would interact with the natural world in Florida. In celebration of life, these strong beauties get to protect, nurture and honor nature in ways I can only dream.
About
Sierra Dante was born in Minnesota in 1969. She graduated with a Master's degree in Architecture, but her love has always been for Art. She started her art career in ceramic sculpture, then moved to painting in oils in 2007. It was coup de foudre! (french expression: coup de foudre = love at first sight)
For several years, she has enjoyed creating in allegorical themes and figurative work. Now she offers her impressions of what she sees. Sierra is a daily painter, working in oils both in the studio and en plein air .
She is influenced by many of the great saints, theologians, philosophers and painters. However, she continues to seek Truth and sees God's hand in everything beautiful. He gave us color and light to paint poetry. With His guidance, Sierra...

Hildegarde von Bingen (1098-1179 CE) was a Christian mystic, Benedictine abbess, and polymath proficient in philosophy, musical composition, herbology, medieval literature, cosmology, medicine, biology, theology, and natural history.

Before a Painting
I knew not who had wrought with skill so fine
What I beheld; nor by what laws of art
He had created life and love and heart
On canvas, from mere color, curve and line.
Silent I stood and made no move or sign;
Not with the crowd, but reverently apart;
Nor felt the power my rooted limbs to start,
But mutely gazed upon that face divine.
And over me the sense of beauty fell,
As music over a raptured listener to
The deep-voiced organ breathing out a hymn;
