terry lynn lopez 
I am a fine art abstract painter working primarily in oil on panel or canvas. I currently am incorporating drawing elements and encaustic finishes on 3-4 foot panels to achieve the essence of the abstraction. I have a drawing and painting background that started with the landscape and slowly moved further and further toward abstraction. As an MFA graduate in drawing and painting I have been teaching at the university level in California for several years and most recently at our local visual arts center back on Maui. Although traditional landscape is not my forte, it has its place in understanding color relationships within space that is needed for successful abstraction. New work, late 2011-2012 This is my latest work and this gallery will serve as a showcase for works in process or just recently completed.
landscape This gallery will feature current plein aire landscapes. Also view small landscapes in the Viewpoints Gallery 2010,2011 Invitational Plein Air Exhibitions.
2013 Schaefer Gallery Invitational show 22 artists were invited to create their intrepretation of "Finding the Forest" literally, metaphorically or conceptually. I chose to use the metaphor of not being able to see the forest for the trees where the forest is life's paths that we each have and the trees are the junk of life that seems to at times obscure, shift, or block our intented paths.
2010 Viewpoints Gallery,Maui Plein Aire invitational  This work was completed during the July 4th parade and the following week.
2010  Hui No'eau Contemporary Juried Show 2010 show was guest curated my Teresa Papanikolas from Honolulu Academy of Art and Inger Tully from the Contemporary Art Museum of Honolulu, Hawaii.
Most Wanted- Group show, Blue Core Gallery, Pomona. Ca-May, 2010 This was an invitational group show where 100 national artists where asked to create their own most "wanted posters."
