October In The Gallery
How to Leave Art and Keepsakes in the Gallery
We're looking for small original works or keepsakes you want to share with the greater community - paintings, drawings, sculptures, jewelry, craft work or whatever else is your original creation or a beautiful keepsake that needs a new home. Artists, this is an opportunity to share drawings, studies, sketches, samples, maquettes - anything not destined for galleries. It's also an opportunity to re-home keepsakes from your collections.
Simply come to 196 Maple St., Camano Island, and position your work in the gallery. If the gallery seems too full, bring your work up to the front porch and put it in the box for that purpose. We expect high turnover because of the number of walkers and visitors to AirBNB in the...
| ||There is an opportunity for artists to have tiny solo shows in the gallery. The shows last 10 days and during that period the gallery is locked to secure your artworks. (Unfortunately the work is not insured while in the gallery unless you have your own insurance.) One solo show per month is anticipated.|
| ||In case a kid is inspired by the Gallery, free basic art supplies are always available. Kids are welcome to bring work to display in the Gallery.|
BlogIntroducing Tiny TeddyTiny Teddy has come to live in the gallery courtesy of Irene. She felt the loss of Itty Dog, who sadly wandered away one day; and she decided to locate a new character for the Tiny Free Gallery menagerie. She found this cutie in a local resale shop.
A New Rock Garden

Camano Studio Tour, June 25-27, 1-5
The Annual Studio Tour, sponsored by the Camano Arts Association, is this Friday through Sunday, June 25-27 from 10-5 daily. See www.camanostudiotour.com for full details. The tour features four galleries, including Matzke Fine Art Gallery and Sculpture Park, pictured here, and 16 artist studios on Camano Island and in Stanwood.
The Gallery Rocks On
The Madrona neighborhood on Camano Island fronts a rocky beach. When the waves come in on a stormy day, you can hear the rocks rolling back and forth getting rounded and smoothed as they do. So painted rocks are found everywhere on Camano Island, including right here in the gallery.
An Itty Bitty Bunny Hops Into the Gallery
Yesterday, a giving person with a touch of humor, added an itty bitty bunny to the gallery. This bitty bunny joins our little menagerie of Itty Dog, Bitty Kitty, bear and beaver. Oscar, the mannikin, particularly likes bunny because it looks at him so adoringly.
