2015 "A Fair to Remember"

The Pastel Society of San Diego ran away with award ribbons at the 2015 San Diego County Fair Fine Art Show. The theme this year was "A Fair to Remember". Our donated award went to Dot Renshaw's pastel, which won 1st place in the themed division.
Those receiving ribbons were Ray Fedorchak, one ot this organization's founding members. Ray was awarded first place in each of the pastel divisions. The first is landscape/still life and the second is portrait/animal. Anita Plaks won a third place ribbon for the painting of the child playing in water and she also won two Honorable Mention awards. Our past president Debbie Krentz-Johnson took third place in landscape for the painting of the Eucalyptus. Karen Howard took home a second place ribbon and special award for her still life and Honorable Mention for the pelican painting. Terri McMurray also won a special award.
The room was packed, and Christine Bowman, Randy Smith, Monique Straub and Linda Reyes were in attendance. The Fine Art Divas put together one incredible show. There had been 1,600 entries and 700 were accepted.
