Our member, BJ Mulvey, wants to share a handy new way to capture falling dust....
Came across a way to handle pastel dust when painting and thought perhaps some other members might find it useful too. Our last demonstrator suggested purchasing a metal strip to use (which had to be cut shorter somehow. Not having a tool to do it I looked for something else in Lowes- and came up with a 4 ft long plastic wall edge protector (can be cut with a blade). Miller (brand) "Corner Guard" protects edges of walls- clear plastic- 90 degree angle and each side is 1" wide! Works great!
Following the People's Choice voting during our 30th Annual Juried Show, there was a tie between "Pure Imagination" by Mark Nakanishi and "Rodeo at Sunset" by Terry Smith. Congratulations to both Mark and Terry!
Thank you Debbie and Cheryl for another outstanding pastel show. Sylvia did an outstanding job of asking art vendors to donate our prize awards. Crys took on the job of putting all the entries in order. Crys, Margaret, Cheryl, and Sylvia helped organize the take-in process. Our awards reception was held Friday, April 1st, from 5:30 to 7:30. Betty and Carolyn were our hostesses. Jess supplied the music.
The awards were presented to the following artists:
