Joe Garcia: A native Californian, Joe is an established landscape and wildlife artist living and painting near Julian. The natural setting amidst oaks and pines, and the golden hills of Southern California provide endless inspiration and subjects for his art.  He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. Joe emphasizes composition, value and spontaneity in his watercolors. His work reflects his love of nature and a variety of other themes on location and in the studio.

Garcia’s art has appeared in numerous publications, including Southwest Art, The Artist Magazine, Wildlife Art, and Watercolor Magic. North Light Books produced his books Mastering the Watercolor Wash and the Watercolor Bible, and included his work in several other publications.

Joe was chosen to judge the 2010 Federal Duck Stamp Contest in October 2010 in Berkeley, California. The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum in Wausau, WI, has selected Joe’s art for the museum’s annual Birds In Art exhibition many times, and he counts the experience as a significant honor.

He exhibits in galleries and shows across the country, and his original paintings and limited edition prints may be found in private collections throughout the United States and in Canada, New Zealand and Europe.
