Irma Pina-Garner was born in Cuba and
raised at the base on Guantanamo. She married a service man and began
the nomadic life of a military family, taking art classes whenever she
could. In Florida, she began her fascination with silk painting and the
absolutely wonderful way dyes spread and mix on the silk. They offer
the vibrancy of the tropical colors found in the Caribbean waters, sea
life, flora and fauna of her homeland. In 2010 she moved back to CA to
reside in Ramona close to family.
