The next artist reception will be December 2nd (Friday) 4-6 PM at La Vida Del Mar located at 850 Del Mar Down Rd, Solano Beach CA 92075. The exhibit is called "Nature's Rhythm and Rhyme". Refreshments will be served.
"Rabbi Block" is one of my recent pastel portraits. I often found myself singing songs from "Fiddler on the Roof" while I worked on this pastel.
As usual, I get carried away with a series. This "Afghanistan Series" has a fascination for me. A friend and client, Gary Gillett sent me some wonderful photographs he took of people from his extensive travels. They are soon becoming images I am painting. My husband, Paul, jokes with me about my portraits of men in turbans. He tells me "Homeland Security" will be invading my studio if I paint one more portrait of a man wearing a turban.
