This image was a complicated piece in it's making. It began as a large, wall sized, mural (of sorts). The background that I am describing was based off of a photograph I took of the first snow of the season. I painted this image, into a tree-scape in the middle of winter so that I could put my human subject, Lindsey into the picture.
Lindsey was body painted with acrylic paint of colors means to camoflague into the background. A photo shoot was taken of Lindsey with the image behind. After, I digitally edited the picture, and ended up combining two of the images in order to make Lindsey appear to be in two places at the same time.
The idea of Lindsey being in two places at the same time is an artistic statement about our minds being in two places at the same times at the changing of the seasons. During the making of this piece, spring was in blossom. This piece refers to Spring as a season in which one is missing the winter, reflecting on loss.
