Recently I've been having a hard time finding the Conte Pastel Pencil I've been using in my figure studies. The art supply lady told me that Conte will not be making these pencils anymore. This is truly sad since I've been buying these pencils forever. I remember getting my first set back in 1978, trying to learn pastel portrait techniques from watching artists in state fairs. Even though I've bought other brands of pastel pencils, they are just not as soft as the Conte. Rest in peace Conte Pastel Pencil. I will miss you.
