| | | | | | | When I was writing and illustrating my children’s book, The Butterfly Effect, I knew I wanted to use an interesting house for Aaron’s home. I would keep my eye out for any house that caught my attention and I would take a picture of it. I drove by a certain house often when I went to my friend Leela’s house and it always had a very cozy storybook feel to me. Of all the houses, this one felt like it belonged in my story. The real house is in Northeast Portland and is definitely not in a rural setting like I wanted it to be. However, using state-of-the-art oil paint and brush technology I was able to put the house in the setting I envisioned.
