Discovered a new way to feel a lot better at anyone who rattles your cage and goes off on their way ! Yep, paint them how ever you would like to. You could go completely wild with your imagination - comic, long pointed ears maybe ? or semi-realistic, or a suitable abstract...... Unrealistic colleagues could soon find themselves becoming surreal images flying over the moon - I never get annoyed any more & I feel great seeing them again with that image in my mind :)) Extreme cases have even grown pigs trotters & sprouted animal fur and horns ! Enjoy !
Tips & Techniques using art and affirmations to achieve your ideal life & change your reality through art to create the life you want to lead.
Imagine if you could erase all the negative stuff with one swipe - well you can !
Don't like something ? Scrub it out. Not what you want ? Redesign it.
Get Rid of What You Don't Want & Focus on What You DO Want !
Affirmations work. They are pretty powerful but I'm not one to wait around while my subconscious sifts through the anti-goal stuff and sometimes you need more - some physical action that feels like you're stirring the pot, rattling the cage and getting immediate action and releasing the frustration that builds while you learn the ropes.
We all know from self help books and from 'The Secret' that we need to focus on what you want and never focus on what you don't want. Ever ! I always thought that was true until I realised that you need to focus on it briefly in order to totally ditch the old Dinosaur thinking. How else will you break the stranglehold that stops you from succeeding ?
What can you do when it all turns pear shaped, when you could spit tacks, when you are as mad as hops, when it doesn't all flow in miraculous harmony like its supposed to, where is your love, peace and harmony then ?
Sages have said that the pen is mightier than the sword, well I reckon the paintbrush is mightier than both as it can be an amazing tool to create exactly the life you want. (Well, as an artist I would say this wouldn't I ?)
What do you do when you make a mistake writing ? You cross it out. When you louse up on your computer ? You delete it & start again.
Well, surprise guys. There is no difference !!
This is my own creative and active, personally tested (and still going through fun trials) very simple method to redesign your thinking while having fun and being creative at the same time. Who knows what masterpiece you may turn out in the process !
The Creative Process ! Prepare yourself for change - if you like theatre by all means don a tall purple hat and cape and caper about on the lawn at midnight first, but bear in mind you may make an unscheduled appearance on YouTube !
Write down what you don't like about your life or what you don't want to have in it - here you have to make some choices and prioritise if you have heaps !
Pick the tool of your choice (rank the tools according to how you feel the size of your problem or block is) If you feel it's a small block use pencil, for a larger block use crayon or pastel and just cross, scrub or scribble over the block or heavy paint if you feel the urge!
This is where it gets interesting - you may find that you are starting to go into full throttle with your scrubbing out. Notice how you are feeling. Still feeling annoyed ? Pick up a paintbrush and splosh paint and literally paint the problem out of existence. (I had one session painting out a particular problem where I almost broke the felt tip pen !!)
You've all heard of the term whitewash ? Get yourself a tub of white gesso ( that covers anything miles better than bandaids !) and whitewash over your word or block or problem - its gone, right ?
Now you have a perfectly blank slate that you can design to your own specifications ! A custom designed life ? A possibility ? Definitely ! No problem.
The Universe and your subconscious loves symbolic gestures and this is a powerful symbolic way to reach it and you will enjoy the fun side and enter into the spirit of it all and it will help you to achieve your goals.
As the mystics say, now is the first day of the rest of your life - metaphorically you are starting completely afresh. Pick up your tools of choice and fill in your dreams and desires. Have fun doing this, embellish your words with colour, paint in what you want, leave out what you don't want and introduce your affirmations to help you on your way now that you have ditched your negative thoughts and become a magnet for all that you desire. Sample affirmations: I always have enough money for what I want to do Everything unfolds at the right time and place for me I am radiantly healthy My inner vision is clear and focused I am a creative person
On my internet journeying I came across a really neat site
Affirmware by Jeff Staniforth where you will find many more affirmations and information on how to manifest your desired reality if you go to his web site at:
More ideas: Use cuttings and journal entries to reinforce your new thinking, save clippings and visual representations of your dream life and place them where you can continually see them to help you to be in the moment and feel that you already have what you wish and always act as if you have already achieved it.
Highlight your ambitions in paint, surround your dreams with luscious colour and create the life you desire and never give up as long as you can hold a paintbrush and let paint help you to move towards what you really want. As artists you will have constant inspirations everywhere and a painting will speak a thousand words.
Here's to your journeying. Success, peace and action.

OK - well, here he is ! Finally, the finished version - after several transitions from harlequin, aborigine on a corroborri - he turned out to be a Commando ! Painting him up in camoflage colours was almost worth all the initial drama of a major battle with constantly snarling chicken wire & being stuck to the workbench with paper mache.
I undercoated the sculpture in multicolours and the finishing touch has a touch of gold mixed in with the camoflage colour.
I'll be posting a couple of the earlier stages later ! .........
Recently I've been doing a chicken wire sculpture of a person in motion - haaaaahhhhhh If you think this was easy, forget it ! I have been doing this since the beginning of time I reckon
I thought it'd be a piece of cake just sketch it out, cut out the chicken wire, cover it with paper mache and zip it over with some paint to my taste.. If ever anyone doubted that bread is full of dough = full of glue (glutin) never doubt again - I have used three litres of the stuff as well as pva and have glued almost every surface in my studio now.
Still, it IS taking shape - OK, well, I have had to remove the arms and reposition them in the right place, shift the legs around a bit and reshape the head, but hey, this is my first piece !!
My chicken man is now almost complete. Check back for progress
