I went through many paintings before this one became the final one. It is impressionist inspired but is completely my artwork, my concept. I put two suns in the picture to replicate the mirage that occurs at sea when sailors see the sun reflection bouncing off the ocean and creating a false second Sun and lose their way. This illusion is called a "Sundog". It currently hangs in the courtyard of the La Pensione Hotel in Little Italy along with another canvas of mine.
