This is a combination traditional drawing/digital illustration. The image is a departure in subject manner and pallete from the way I normally work. This was done during a challenging and uncertain time in my life: losing my job, finishing graduate school, looking at the paths ahead with determination and strength, "to rise like a phoenix from the ashes".
