This work started with a photo taken in Newport, Oregon. There is a restaurant with a deck overlooking the harbor with these umbrellas shading the tables. After many attempts to capture the full picture of the umbrellas, the tables, the patrons and the harbor bridge in the background, I decided the umbrellas were really the item of interest and eliminated everything else.
