Native San Diegan, Barbara Peterson's interest in art
began as a child. During her early years, Barbara’s primary focus was horses--both
real and drawn. She attended USD College for Women where she majored in
English and minored in art. After gaining her teaching credential, Ms.
Peterson taught Junior High School English, Math and Art. Her serious interest
in her art began in the late eighties when she discovered the great adult
education art classes being offered locally.
Inspired by both the talented teachers and artists she met, Barbara
became committed to her painting.
Barbara enjoys painting wildlife, still life pieces, portraits
and landscapes. She does commissioned paintings as well as paintings for
gallery shows. She views her art as an integral part of who she is.
