I create sculptures and drawings. My priority is space; I have use two aspects of creating space, the 2-d and the 3-d. The act of creating manifests through the process in combination of materials that allow for immediate application and the rawness of the process. I believe that art is a result of the process of creating space. The creation of space is a result of the transfer of energy from the artists to the object.

In art drawing is an essential and fundamental part of my development and process of creating. The drawings are typically large scale and I use charcoal and grey tone pastels on watercolor paper. Movement, line, and shaped spaces are used to provide a dramatic but inquisitive experience for the viewer. Drawing is an essential part of my development and process of creating art. The drawings/paintings each have their own characteristics and function as objects being in a space that have architectural and figurative references.

A few of the artists that have inspired and influenced my work are Rebecca Warren, Rodin, David Smith, Henry Moore, Arshile Gorky, Jackson Pollock, Elizabeth Murray, Anish Kapoor, Richard Serra, Ellsworth Kelly, Anne Truitt, De Chirico, El Greco, and Tiepolo. Art movements that inspire me as a creator are Surrealism, Cubism, Minimalism, Constructivism, Abstract Expressionism, Spatialism and Conceptual Art.

The sculptures are made out of air-drying white clay. This clay allows the sculpture to be immediate and more pure than other types of process in sculpture. I feel is important in the act of creating to be immediate. There is  no initial plan. The organic forms have a cartoonist and surrealistic feel to them. Line and movement become important in a latter part of the development of the sculpture. After, this process the sculptures are cast in bronze.
