Part of the River Current Series: For the past several years, the mergansers winter over on the river outside our windows. Usually as a group of males or females, they dive under the cold water for minutes, searching for tasty morsels. Then, in the evening, the groups merge and the single filed swimmers find a safe haven to spend the night. I find peace, delight and harmony viewing these repetitive actions each day and evening.
