This 12x16" oil painting is of a favorite part of the Chicago Botanic Garden of mine. I love the gracefully curved steps that lead down to the water here, set off in spring by a symphony of blooming crabapple trees and other flowering shrubs. There is a sense of anticipation as the perennials along the edge of the water prepare to burst into bloom as well.
