In my former garden years had passed and things had changed. The maple, small when we moved in, was large now and lifted the bricks I'd laid to edge the garden. Only shade lovers thrived there, now. Recently, to my great joy, a bright yellow daffodil arrived and settled itself in. We've since moved, but I enjoy this glimpse of past glory.
