Depicting a glorious, gnarly tree at Illinois Beach State Park, this painting is 18x24" with a wide gallery-wrap edge.
In my butterfly monitoring days I would reliably see anglewing butterflies hanging out here on and near this beautiful tree. Here, of course, I've painted it in winter with a soft pink sky that has tinted the snow pink as well. I love how the lichens on the big limbs contrast softly with the pink of the snow.
